SLLEA history:

SLLEA was founded as a pilot program in 2014 to help adults with autism achieve and maintain meaningful independence in their lives. From 2014 to 2016, SLLEA applied our integrated program of services, skill training and technology to help three young men who were attending college, working and learning to live independently in SLLEA’s first Tier smart home. Among the successes of these young men, the trial project also served to collect qualitative and quantitative data for SLLEA’s future Training and Assessment Program (TAP) and our other tier level homes.

In 2015, SLLEA formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In 2016, SLLEA began full program operations as a licensed Oregon Medicaid provider agency when SLLEA opened its first TAP home, offering an intensive training program with a live-in ‘hands-on’ practice house. SLLEA currently offers a five-tier program with tier specific curriculum to progress to independent living outside the SLLEA program.
